For a price quote e-mail me with the following details:
- Length of project
- What format is the project on (tape, .wav files, .aiff files, DAT, etc.)?
- Tracklist / sequence and what is desired regarding gaps / transitions / segues
- Planned format(s) for release of project
- Labels involved and their contact info
- What needs to be done in regards to levels, eq, etc.
I
can work from various sources, such as compact disc, cd-r,
minidisc, vhs videotape, 1/4" open-reel, cassette, vinyl, and nearly any digital file format.
NOTES:
DAT and MD transfers will require the use of an outside studio, with an extra cost of $30-45 depending on project length. Currently I do not have access to a DAT machine, so I can't do DAT transfers. Sorry!
- I strongly recommend to artists who record digitally to use files of 44.1 kHz / 16-bit (CD resolution) or higher. Compressed files such as mp3, wma, etc. are lossy formats, of which the full
sound quality cannot be recovered. For any compression a lossless form is highly recommended (SHN, FLAC, etc.)
- I recommend test-pressings to be done as many recordings can be ruined without it.
- I will want a copy of each format of the project upon its release (for my own reference) and word about future re-editions.
